September 14, 2011 – BAPCo® Announces the Commencement of TabletMark™ Development and Confirms the Release of the Next MobileMark® in 2012

San Mateo, California – September, 14, 2011 –The commencement of TabletMark™ development, a new cross-architecture benchmark that will explore different performance aspects of tablet devices, was announced today by the Business Application Performance Corporation (BAPCo®), a non-profit consortium of leading PC hardware manufacturers and software publishers.

With this new benchmark BAPCo continues to welcome feedback and input from the community. Any organization interested in contributing to this development and the consortium’s goals and purposes are invited to join BAPCo in this ground breaking benchmark.

TabletMark will broaden the BAPCo family of benchmarks which include: SYSmark®, MobileMark® and EEcoMark® which have been widely accepted by IT Managers, PC OEMs, press and analysts worldwide.

BAPCo also confirmed the widely anticipated release of the next version of MobileMark in 2012. This ground up development will bring numerous enhancements to MobileMark which are not limited to new workloads and updated popular applications from each of their respective fields.

Both TabletMark and the forthcoming MobileMark build upon their predecessors, including the recently released SYSmark® 2012, utilizing the strongest and broadest development team in PC benchmark history.
